Dealing with modern life

CatrionaYoga classes gently stretch out the whole body.

This is such a relief for those muscles that hold tension due to the demands and routines of modern life.

Strength

Regular practice strengthens important postural muscles which can become weak due to those demands, routines and lack of regular use.

Breathing Your Way Healthy

An important aspect of our class is pranayama - breathing techniques - where we focus on learning to breathe properly, that is using primary rather than secondary breathing muscles (deep abdominal breathing rather than shallow, chest breathing).

The benefits of breathing properly are numerous - increasing energy, aiding detoxification, postural, optimal organ function and circulation, calming the nervous system, better sleep - the list goes on...

Relaxation

Classes all begin and end with relaxation - also an essential part of all Hatha yoga classes. Learning to relax is an art.

The more practice, the better you get at it!

​In classes we use techniques to teach the mind and body to escape from the busyness and stresses of our every day lives to come to a place of stillness and peace (Yoga!).
